Louie Ray Brookshire of Dalton Ga went to be with his heavenly Father on Wednesday, Feb 19 2025. Louie passed with peace and grace at home in the presence of his family and friends. Louie was 85 years young born April 14 1939.

Louie enjoyed and had a great love for baseball, fishing and the beach. Over the years beautiful memories were made and now treasured.

He served his country proudly, at the ripe age of 17. He joined the United States Army for 4 years of active duty. Honorary member of the American Legion. Later Louie worked and retired from Shaw Industries after 20+ years as a local truck driver.

Louie was an active and engaged husband, father and Grandfather showing deep joy and love to his family. Louie was a friend to all. He will be deeply missed but forever in our hearts.

Proceeded in death by his parents Clay and Lillian Brookshire. Sisters, Eloise Lewis, Billie Satterfield, Grace Cranmore. Brother, Archie Brookshire. Son, Randy Brookshire. Grandson, Josh Clarkson

Louie is survived by his loving wife and soulmate of 44 wonderful years, Cindy Long Brookshire. Daughters, Celeste Thomason (Jerry), Chrissie Clarkson of Ormand Beach FL. Sons, Nathan Brookshire, Ronnie Brookshire of Ormand Beach FL.

Also surviving are grandchildren, Brayden Thomason (Abby), Alexis Thomason, Marleigh Brookshire, Taber Brookshire, Brittany Brookshire(Jason), Brandon Brookshire(Faith).

Brother in Law Doug Long (Barbara). Very Special Neice, Brenda Allison and special friend, Steve Hamrick. Other special nieces ans nephews, cousins and 4 great grandchildren.

Special thanks to Amedisys Hospice. Nurses Denise, Shane, Kim, Tonya, Tabitha, Neil,Timothy, Lorrie. CNA's Amber, Brittany, Tonya, Laura and Chaplin Craig.

Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
