Lonnie “Eugene” Harrison, 85, of Cleveland went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, May 15, 2019.
Born October 28, 1933, Eugene was a lifelong resident of Cleveland, TN. He was a graduate of Bradley Central High School and attended Cleveland State Community College. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict from 1955 to 1962 at Sandia Military Base in Albuquerque, New Mexico. After discharging from the Army, he worked for 40 years at Cleveland Chair until his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Sarah E. Harrison; his parents, Edward and Pearl Harrison; and nephews, Gary Thompson and Anthony Sherlin. He was a member of Kinser Church of God.
Survivors include his daughter, Denise Yvette Harrison Verner (Frederick) of Cleveland; granddaughter, Dedra Lagene Nichole Harrison Verner West (Adam) of Knoxville; grandson, SGT. Daniel Drake Warren Verner of Cleveland; great grandson, Harrison Marshall West due June 2019; special niece, Deanna Lynn Barrick (David) of Athens, GA; sister, Ruth Thompson (Willard) of Cleveland; brother, Ken Harrison (Mary) of Cleveland; niece, Pat Thompson (Ralph) of Cleveland; nephew, Mark Thompson (Lisa) of Benton; niece Melony Harrison Mink (Waylon) of Cummings, GA; nephew, Brian Harrison (Melisa) of Holly Springs, NC; great niece and nephews, Garrett Thompson, Grayson Thompson, Michael Finnell, Aaron Finnell, and Brittany Finnell.

The family will receive friends at Companion Funeral Home in Cleveland Saturday, May 18, 2019 from 10am to 12pm. Inurnment with military honors will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens with Pastor Guinn Green officiating.
