Lois Hendren Lippard

Obituary
Lois Hendren Lippard, 90, died on January 8, 2014 at a local assisted living facility. Lois was born on January 26, 1923 in Mocksville, NC to the late Willie Linvel Hendren and Jessie Dwiggins Hendren. She was the last survivor of the family of six children. She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Harold Augustus "Gus" Lippard, who died June 19, 2010.
Lois and Gus came to Cleveland in 1952, where he established Lippard Propane Gas Service. Lois worked along with Gus as office manager until her retirement.
She was very active in Broad Street United Methodist Church, serving on board of directors, delegate to Holston Conference, and office in UMW. She was an office volunteer for several years. She was a member and teacher of the Rodgers Sunday School Class.
Lois was a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi where she achieved the highest degree. She was an accomplished quilter, seamstress, and needle worker. She leaves behind many examples of her skill and love.
She is survived by one daughter, Carol Lippard Dorst and her husband Mike of Sarasota, FL, and a granddaughter, Leslie Dorst Garbis and husband Evangelos of Nashville, TN, a grandson Ryan Dorst and fiancé, Wendi Trinkner of Breckenridge, CO, and one great-grandson, Evan Garbis of Nashville, TN. She is survived also by many loving nieces and nephews and special friends and caretakers, Betty Scott, Ron and Betsy Williams, and Betty and Fred Brown. Memorials may be given to Broad Street United Methodist Church Congregational Care Fund, located at the church address listed below.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00pm on Sunday January 12, 2014 at Broad Street United Methodist Church located at 155 Central Ave NW, Cleveland, TN 37311. The family will receive friends from 1:00pm-2:30pm before the service.
