Lloyd Scroggins, a proud member of the Cherokee Tribe and a beloved resident of Chattanooga, TN, passed away on November 4, 2023, at the age of 76. Lloyd leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories that will forever warm the hearts of those who knew him.

 

Lloyd was a man of many passions. He had a deep appreciation for his Cherokee heritage and was known for his love of fishing, which allowed him to connect with nature and his roots. He also had a spirit of adventure and enjoyed motorcycle riding, feeling the wind in his hair as he explored the open road. His playful nature shone through in his love for poker, and he was known for his captivating storytelling, which would keep friends and family entertained for hours. Lloyd cherished spending time with his loved ones, and nothing brought him greater joy than the laughter and camaraderie he shared with family and friends. He was a master of both foosball and pool, always up for a friendly game. Additionally, he had a soft spot for old Western movies, which transported him to a time of rugged heroes and vast landscapes.

 

Lloyd was preceded in death by his mother, Peggy Jo Jones, his father, Lloyd Frank Scroggins, his stepfather, Sonny Jones, his stepmother, Bobbie Scroggins, and his granddaughter, Leah Rene Scroggins.

 

He is survived by his loving spouse, Elizabeth Ann Scroggins, and their children: Lloyd Scroggins Jr., Robert Scroggins (Tammy), William Scroggins, Tony Hamm (Beth), and Tammy Pierre (Dennis). Lloyd is also survived by his siblings: Gary Jones (Brenda) and Bill Jones. He leaves behind a legacy in his grandchildren: Kayla Bowlby, Lacey Barger, Lloyd Scroggins III (Kayla), Dustin Scroggins (Michelle), Dakota Scroggins, Amber Scroggins, Cody Scroggins (Heather), Shyanne Scroggins, Faith Hamm, Hope Hamm, and Shauna Hamm. His great-grandchildren, Sheana Barger, Emalee McDonald, Micah Barger Jr., Isaiah Scroggins, Ava Scroggins, and Hunter Scroggins, will carry his memory forward. Lloyd's many fishing friends will forever remember the camaraderie they shared.

 

A celebration of Lloyd's remarkable life will be held at a later date by his family, allowing friends to come together with the family and honor his memory. Lloyd Scroggins will be dearly missed but never forgotten, as his spirit lives on in the hearts of those he touched with his warmth and kindness. May he rest in peace, forever in our thoughts and prayers.
