Lloyd Parker

May 26, 1938 — October 26, 2024

Lloyd Parker, of Cleveland, Tennessee, Bradenton, Florida, and Winter Harbor Maine, departed this life on October 26, 2024, in Bradenton, Florida. Lloyd accepted Jesus as his savior at a young age, a faith that guided him throughout his life.

He is survived by his amazing and loving wife, Mary Evelyn Robinson Parker, originally from Cleveland, Tennessee, with whom he truly lived his golden years. Lloyd's legacy continues through his two daughters, Cheryl Whidden and her husband Joel, and Lori Hoopingarner and her husband Bart. He was a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren: Rachel Xavier (Jonathan), Suzannah Pontious (Blair), Jared Whidden (Karissa), Mary-Lila Mercurio (Eddie), Jordan Whidden (Gabrielle), Brooke Hoopingarner (Dan Altman) and Luke Hoopingarner. His joy extended to his seven great-grandchildren: Jackson, Ronin, Annastyn, Eli, Parker, Madeline, and Josi-Kate. Lloyd is also survived by his brother, Reverend Don F. Parker (Judy) of Marietta, Georgia, his sister, Marilyn Ellwood (David) of Winchester, Massachusetts, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and his beloved dog, Daisy.

Lloyd dedicated 30 years to teaching and coaching in Manatee County Schools. After retirement, he found joy in his work with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Ms. Sanna Rossi, which he fondly called the best job he ever had.

A lifelong tennis player, Lloyd cherished playing with close friends and annual matches for 32 years with his "Tennis Playing Cousins" from Tennessee.

The family invites friends to join them anytime between 2:00 and 4:00 PM on November 9th at 1302 Water Oak Way N. in Bradenton to visit, hear stories, and share memories of time spent with Lloyd. Visiting with friends and family will be held from 1:00 until 3:00 PM at St. Lukes Episcopal Church Paris Hall in Cleveland, Tennessee, on Friday November 15th with internment following.
