Linda Weir

Linda Lou Weir, 82, of Athens, TN went to be with the Lord on December 16, 2024.

She was the daughter of Floyd and Emma Peters, born on June 24, 1942. Linda was a lifetime member of Piney Grove United Methodist Church where she was also an adult Sunday School Teacher until the closure of the church. She then became a member of South Liberty Baptist Church. Linda was a tax preparer for 44 years. She was an avid gardener, specifically with flowers. Linda was a 1960 graduate of McMinn County High School where she graduated as Valedictorian. She then went on to get her bachelor's in accounting from Tennessee Wesleyan College in 1989.

Preceded in death by husband of 42 years, Clyde Thomas Weir; and son, Thomas Lynn Weir.

Survivors include her son, Jeffery Scott Weir and wife Pam of Athens, TN; grandchildren, Amy Frase of Englewood, TN, Justin Scott Weir and Whitney of Athens, TN, and Blake Witt of Athens, TN; great grandson, James Scott Weir; sisters, Eva Burris and Husband Rick of Calhoun, TN, Barbara Hawkins of Athens, TN; very special friend, William Owenby; and many nieces, nephews and other loved family members.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2024 at Companion Funeral Home of Athens at 1:00pm with Pastors Tazz Reed and Gary Duncan officiating. Visitation will be held prior from 11am - 1pm.
