Linda Thomas Austin, 81, of Chattanooga, Tenn. entered her eternal home in heaven with her Savior Jesus Christ on September 4, 2021. She was born in Rocky Mount, N.C. on July 10, 1940, to the late Wilbur and Scottie Thomas. Linda has been a resident of Chattanooga for the past 58 years, moving here with her husband from North Carolina. Her faith in her Lord Jesus Christ informed all aspects of her life. She loved reading, studying, and teaching the Bible. Linda loved her family and enjoyed taking trips overseas with them. She always remembered her family and those close to her in prayer. She enjoyed cooking, walking, and bicycling. She was passionate about world missions and praying for those on the mission field. Her influence for Christ, especially among younger women, was a hallmark of her life. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband of 59 years Lawrence B. (Pete) Austin III; children: Lawrence B. (Pete) Austin IV (Beth) and Thomas A. (Tommy) Austin (Jeanne) of Chattanooga, and Scottie Austin Cain (Dick) of Gadsden, Alabama; siblings: Barbara Beason (Ed) and Phil Thomas (Bibba) of North Carolina.
