Linda Ownby, age 75, departed from this world on January 31, 2024, in Chattanooga, TN, leaving behind a legacy of love, devotion, and cherished memories.

Born on December 12, 1948, in Franklin, KY, Linda was the beloved daughter of Covis Jones and Hazel Jones. She graduated from Franklin Simpson High School in 1966 and went on to lead a fulfilling life. Linda served as a dedicated bank teller until her retirement from FSG Bank, contributing her skills and warmth to her colleagues and clients.

A woman of deep faith, Linda was a proud member of Woodland Park Baptist Church, where she found solace, community, and a spiritual home. Her devotion to the Lord was unwavering, and she shared her love for God with all who knew her. Linda's role as a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother was central to her life. Her love for her family and dear friends knew no bounds, creating a tapestry of warmth and compassion that touched the lives of those around her.

Linda is preceded in death by her husband Dennis Ownby Sr., her parents Covis and Hazel Jones, her daughters Crissy Ownby Hubbs and Lisa Ownby, and several siblings. She now rests in eternal peace, reunited with her loved ones who went before her.

She is survived by her son Dennis (Meredith) "Butch" Ownby Jr., her siblings Tracey (Rhonda) Jones and Jerry (Paulita) Jones, her grandchildren Jadah Ownby, Caleb Ownby, Jacob Hubbs, Katie Hubbs, and Landon Ruppel. Linda's great-grandchildren, Coleman McConathy and Laney McConathy, brought immeasurable joy to her life. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and many special cousins who held a special place in her heart.

Final arrangements have been entrusted to Companion Funeral and Cremation Service, Chattanooga Chapel, ensuring that Linda's memory is honored with the utmost care and respect.

The family invites friends and well-wishers to a Memorial Service on Saturday, February 10th, 2024, at Woodland Park Baptist Church. Pastor Bruce Daughtery will officiate the service, providing comfort and words of solace. Visitation will begin at 11:30 am, with the memorial service following at 1:00 pm. Woodland Park Baptist Church is located at 6735 Standifer Gap Road, Chattanooga, TN 37421.
