Linda Manis Mackey

Linda Manis Mackey, 72, a resident of Athens, TN passed away and entered the presence of her Lord on Thursday afternoon, October 19th, 2017. She was born in Sevierville, TN. She graduated from Seymour High School and E. Tennessee Baptist Hospital School of Nursing. Linda was a board certified occupational health nurse and retired from The Dow Chemical Company in 2007. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Cleveland, TN. Since retirement, she has served as a volunteer with the McMinn County Relay for Life.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Anna Manis of Seymour, TN and her brother, Jack Manis of Maryville, TN.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Lonnie W. Mackey, daughter, Kimberly Mackey and husband, Mark Anderson of Tampa, Florida; son Keith Mackey and wife Julie Mackey of Janesville, Wisconsin. Grandsons include Blake Mackey, Griffin Mackey, Carson Anderson; granddaughter, Cora Anderson and great-grandson, Channing Mackey. Brother, Jerry Manis (wife, Debbie) and sister in law, Frances Manis all of Maryville, TN and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Monday, October 23, 2017 at the First Baptist Church located at 1275 Stuart Road NE in Cleveland, TN. A service celebrating her life will follow the visitation time.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial donations be made to the McMinn County Relay for Life. Those can be done online by visiting the McMinn County Relay for Life website or mailed to the McMinn County Relay for Life in care of Faye Forgety, 120 CR 447, Athens, TN 37303.
