Linda Rowland Loveday, age 71, of Etowah, passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at her home with her loving Family by her side. She loved her large family and looked forward to Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings with loved ones. Linda had a servant’s heart and was truly a caregiver her entire life.
For 20+ years Linda worked as a CNA at Woods Memorial Nursing Home in Etowah. She also cared for her parents, and after marrying Quay, the two of them looked after his mother, Josie, during her final years. As a single mother she raised three sons, and helped raise her grandchildren. There was never a moment she was not willing and eager to serve others. She was hardworking, never complained, and always welcomed everyone with a warm smile and gentle humor. She will always be remembered as a rock for her family. In retirement she particularly enjoyed vacations to the beach with her husband Quay, brother Eddie and sister-in-law Nina. Most notable trips enjoyed were to the Rocky Mountains and St. Augustine. As a history buff she never failed to find a historical site to visit. Linda always had a book to read and was eager to learn. Her passion for history, politics and faith were always evident and passed down to her children.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Austin and Pauline Rowland, brothers, Eddie, Randy and David.
Linda is survived by her husband Quay; sons, Scott Cole(Robin) of Athens, Brad Cole(Veronica) of Colorado Springs, and Todd Watson(Sara) of Englewood; stepchildren, Todd Loveday(Kristi) of Englewood, Travis Loveday(Lori) of Cleveland, Misty Wall(Steve) of Etowah: grandchildren, Abby, Ella, Jessi, Sofia, Eliza, Ruby, Rosabella, Gwendolyn, and Rowland: Step grandchildren Trent, Sara, Josh, Alex, Rachel and Sydney: Step great grandchildren Elsie, Phoenix and Willow; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
