Obituary

Linda Gail Raby, 71, of Cleveland passed away peacefully at her home on Friday April 11th, 2014. She was born in Knoxville, TN then moved to Tellico Plains, TN where she grew up. She graduated from Tellico Plain High School in 1960 where she was in many clubs, she was a football cheerleader and excellent basketball player. She then went on to peruse her education at Hiwassee College. Linda married her childhood sweetheart Delano Raby and started a family and a football coaching journey began to Jonesboro, Bristol then to Cleveland. She had a great personality that will be greatly missed. Linda loved sewing, art & Crafts, cooking and playing the piano. She especially loved golfing with the ladies at Rolling Hills.

She is preceded in death by her parents William and Eva Holt, brother Bill Holt and sister Kay Harms.

Linda leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband of 53 years Delano "Frank" Raby, one son Michael (Tarrah) Raby, one daughter Traci Raby, two grandsons Jesse Browder and Taylor (Amanda) White, three great grandchildren Layla Gene Browder, Jayden White and Presley White, her adopted daughter Stephanie Goins, two sisters Donna (Kenny) Hamilton of Tellico Plains, TN and Jo (Dan) Erwin of Vonore, TN, one brother Pete Holt of Tellico Plains, TN and several nieces and nephews who will greatly miss their aunt "Dodie".

The family will receive friends in the chapel of Companion Funeral Home located at 2419 Georgetown Road in Cleveland, TN on Tuesday night, April 15th, 2014 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at which time it will close with a brief memorial service.

Linda's family wants to extend a special thank you to hospice and nurse Chris for all their excellent care and support to Linda and the entire family.
