Linda Shinbaum Clark (née Ulin) died on Sunday, February 18, 2024 at her home in Chattanooga, TN.
A devoted and loving mother and wife, Linda was often high on life, and she loved to laugh and to celebrate with anyone who would join her. "Miss Linda", later Mrs. Clark, was a passionate teacher and ballet dancer, so her descent into the dementia that gradually overtook her mind and body during her final years was doubly demoralizing. Having made great progress in her long struggle with bipolar disorder, Linda made it her mission to lavish her family with enthusiastic assurances of her love at every opportunity.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents Jesse and Dorothy Ulin and her brother Michael Ulin. She is survived by her three children-Jeffrey Shinbaum, Wendy Shinbaum, and Carey Shinbaum (Laura Howard)-and her gentle husband and steadfast partner, Robert Clark.
Lovers of the arts, Linda and Robert attended myriad memorable performances through their decades together, but the most incredible were undoubtedly their innumerable private concerts, in which he serenaded her from a vast and varied collection of shared tunes gleaned from a lifetime in music. Linda will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
