Linda Bruce Sprague

Obituary
Linda Bruce Sprague, 75, was called home on Sunday, Nov. 17, to join her beloved husband Johnny in heaven. She was a cherished mother, grandmother, aunt, sister-in-law and friend. She had remarkable compassion and generosity and a vibrant personality and keen sense of humor. In her caring nature she was an avid cook who enjoyed providing a good meal for others.
Linda was born in Lincoln, Illinois on Jan. 31, 1938, grew up in Erwin, TN and was a resident of Lakeview, Georgia for many years. She then moved to Decatur, Tenn., where she lived for 25 years until the time of her death. Linda was a devout Christian who lived her faith, serving others and serving God in her day to day actions and professionally as a nurse.
Linda completed nurse's training at Erlanger school of nursing and had a long career as a registered nurse and nurse educator in Chattanooga, Tenn.
Linda's survivors include daughters Karen Sprague and Amy (Robert) Conner, son, John K. Sprague III; grandchildren Toby, Ian, Kate and Ben Conner; and Jake and Isabella Sprague; brother Tom Bruce and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday November 19, 2013 from 4:00-7:00PM at Decatur United Methodist Church located at 145 Vernon Street, Decatur, TN 37322. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 7:00PM at the church with Pastor Hugh Bryan officiating. Interment will be at Candies Creek Baptist Church Cemetery on Wednesday November 20, 2013 at 11:00AM, David Close, Nathan Close, John Berg, John Berg Jr., Barton Berg, Joe Burton, Kelly Close, and Courtney Berg will serve as pallbearers.
