Lillie Delvena Arp

Lillie “Delvena” Arp, 82, of Cleveland, TN passed away on February 19, 2018. She was born on October 27, 1935 to the late Jonah P. and Dolly Mae Sledge. Delvena has been a resident of Cleveland since 1948. She was a member of East Cleveland Baptist Church.
In addition to her mother and father she is preceded in death by her infant son, David; brothers: Mearl Sledge, Elbert Sledge, Fred Sledge, and Alvin Sledge; sisters: Ruby Sledge, Ruth Sledge, and infant sister Billie Jo Sledge.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband of 63 years, James Arp Sr.; son James Arp Jr.; brother Jackie Sledge; sisters: Jean Nix, Mary Leonard (Everett), Barbara Bullard (Ronnie). In addition to these, she leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6:00pm until 9:00pm on Tuesday February 20, 2018 at East Cleveland Baptist Church located at 1145 Arnold Street NE, Cleveland, TN 37311. A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday February 21, 2018 at the church with Rev. Joe Lockman and Rev. Larry Chastain officiating. Interment will follow the service in Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Ranger, NC.
