Lila Dominguez

October 4, 1946 — January 3, 2025

Our beloved mother, Lila Claire Dominguez, was born on October 4, 1946, in Goshen, NY, to Seely and Catherine Hunter. She spent her early childhood there with her cherished sister, Linda, before the family relocated to Pompano Beach, FL, in 1954. There, she attended high school and formed lifelong friendships that she treasured throughout her life.

After high school, Lila pursued her education at Stephens College in Columbia, MO. It was in 1964 when she attended her first Bob Dylan concert, sneaking out to witness what would become a defining moment in her life as a lifelong fan of his music. Following her time at Stephens, she earned her liberal arts degree from the University of Florida.

In her early adult years, Lila embarked on a life-changing trip to Europe, where she met the love of her life, Armando Dominguez, in Madrid, Spain. Their love story took them to Cascais, Portugal, where they built their life and raised their three children: Lisa M. (Choochie), Dominique G. (Nikki), and Nicolau B. (Boni).

In 1986, Lila returned to Pompano Beach, FL, with her children, always sacrificing so much for their welfare and happiness. There, she joined her father's printing business, working diligently while balancing her role as a devoted mother.

In her retirement, Lila found joy in the simple pleasures of life, spending her later years with her daughter Nikki and son-in-law Lee. In 2022, she embraced a new chapter when the family moved to the "Farm" in Etowah, TN. She relished the serene countryside, frequent happy visits with her son Nick, and treasured moments with her grandchildren, Evan and Bella Maria.

Lila passed away peacefully on January 3, 2025, following complications related to her cancer treatment. Her warmth, kindness, and selflessness were the foundation of our family, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her daughter Dominique Feriozzi and husband Lee, her son Nick Dominguez and wife Nichole, her grandchildren Evan Michael Waxman and Isabella Maria Dominguez, her nephew William (Bill) Strumas, and a circle of cherished lifelong friends, including Susan, Mary Linda, Beth, Pam, Eric and many others she held close to her heart.
