Leroy Edward Cooley, age 81, of Cleveland, TN, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2025. Born on March 24, 1944, Leroy was a member of South Cleveland Church of God and lived a life of dedication, marked by his unwavering commitment to his country and his family.
Leroy dedicated 28 years of his life to serving his country in the United States Army, Army National Guard and Army Reserves. His commitment and deep love for his country was evident. Leroy's devotion to his country will forever be remembered, as will his warmth, humility, and the quiet strength he carried throughout his life.
Leroy found great joy in the beauty of the mountains he cherished. He enjoyed the freedom and beauty of God's beautiful creation. The winding roads through nature were a favorite escape, and he was often seen cruising in his beloved Jeep and often shared stories about the stunning views that accompanied each twist and turn. His spirit will forever ride along those mountain roads, a testament to his passion for the open road and the mountain peaks that framed his life.
Leroy's faith in God was the cornerstone of his life, and he lived every day with a deep sense of gratitude, humility, and love for others. His unwavering trust in God's plan gave him strength through both triumphs and trials, and he inspired all who knew him with his kindness, compassion, and commitment to his faith.
Above all, Leroy was a family man whose love for his wife, Billie Cooley, of 40 years, along with his children-Kim Cooley, Traci Cooley, Greg Morrow, and Mark Morrow; grandsons, Dylan Cooley, Cameron Davis, Josh Morrow, Jaxson Morrow, and Kaden Morrow was evident. His family was his greatest pride and joy, and his legacy lives on in the warmth of his family's embrace and the countless memories they hold
Funeral services will be held in Leroy's honor, Thursday, April 10th at Companion Funeral Home, The Ridge Chapel at 6:30 pm with Pastor Edwin Lipsey officiating. Friends and family are invited to gather to celebrate his life and the lasting impact he has made on those around him April 10th from 4:00 to 6:30 pm. As we prepare to bid farewell, we will remember Leroy for the love he shared, the values he imparted, and the joy he brought into our lives.
Leroy will be laid to rest, with full Army Military Honors, at Sunset Memorial Gardens Friday, April 11, 2025, at 1:00.
