Leonard “Ray” Ivey, Sr., 65, of Ooltewah passed away August 15, 2019 following an extended illness. He was a lifelong resident of Hamilton county who loved working on and painting cars. He was an avid NASCAR fan, especially Dale Earnhardt and loved watching Westerns on TV. He retired from Standard Iron after 20 years of service
Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Evelyn Ivey; brother, Jackie Ivey; and sister, Linda Smith.
Left to Cherish his memory include his son and daughter-in-law, Ray Ivey,Jr. and Stacy Ivey; three grandchildren, Evan, Reed, and Colton Ivey; a companion of 14 years, Jan Friddell; twin sister, Faye Ivey; sister, Brenda Hickman; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Companion Funeral Home in Cleveland on Saturday, August 17, 2019 from 5pm to 8pm. Funeral services will be at 2pm, Sunday August 18, 2019 at the funeral home with Joe Kelly officiating. Burial will follow in Ivey family cemetery in Ooltewah.
The family has requested the following men serve as pallbearers: Joe Buckner, Keith Kirkendal, Steven Haven, Michael Compton, Curtis Campbell, and Bobby Hickman, Jr.
