Leonard L. Goins

Obituary
Leonard L. Goins, 67, a resident of Cleveland, TN passed away on Thursday night, March 14th, 2013 in a Chattanooga hospital. Leonard was a lifelong resident of Cleveland having been born here on March 9th, 1946 a son of the late Lozier and Ellen Goins. He was of the Baptist faith. Leonard was a well known auto mechanic and race care drive. He enjoyed Antique Cars and Antique Car Shows.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two sisters June Almon and Arlene Evans, one brother Johnny Goins, and a special sister-in-law Phyllis Goins.
Leonard leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife Janet Goins, two daughters Deniece Goins and Charity Goins, four sons Greg Goins, Troy Goins, Kevin Smith, and Rick Smith, two sisters Joyce Hall (Cecil) and Barbara Herron, three brothers Jim Goins (Linda) of Benton, TN, Howard Goins and Roy Goins (Frances), eight grandchildren, one great grandchild, one sister-in-law Charlene Luther, four brothers-in-law Riley Shook, Charles “Duck” Shook; Billy Shook, and Curtis Shook, a special friend Patsy Floyd, several nieces and nephews and a host of other extended family members and friends.
A celebration of his life will take place on Tuesday, March 19th, 2013 at 2:00 PM the Big Springs Baptist Church located at 1415 Hardwick Street SE, Cleveland, TN with the Reverend Shane Lawson and the Reverend James Staton officiating. Interment will follow in the New McDonald Eastview Cemetery in Ooltewah, TN with Bobby Doss, John Phillips and Marcus Johnson serving as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the Big Spring Baptist Church on Monday night, March 18th, 2013 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and also one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
