Lela Tallent

Lela Tallent, 67, of Athens, TN passed away on Thursday, November 19, 2020. Lela was born on October 23, 1953 to the late Guffey and Elise Tallent.

Lela is proceeded in death by her parents, sister, Janice Tallent and brother, Harold Tallent.

Left to cherish her memory, son, DeWayne Tallent, daughter, Regina Tallent, grandchildren, Mathayus Tallent and Noah Tallent. Lela is also survived by by seven sisters, Virginia Dodson, Mae Shattles, Rachel Jones, Dana Shelton, Evalyn Moses, Ivelene Robinson, and Helen Winder; three brothers, Thomas Tallent, Carey Tallent, and Larry Tallent. Several nieces, nephews, other extended family members and a host of friends also survive.

A celebration of Lela’s life will be held on Tuesday November 24, 2020 at 7:00 Pm in the Athens chapel of Companion Funeral Home located at 400 S. White Street, Athens, TN 37303. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4:00 till the 7:00 service. Pastor Shane White from West End Baptist Church will be officiating the service.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the family to assist with final expenses.
