Lee Tucker

Lee Tucker was born December 8, 1937 to William Lawrence and Stella Maureen Hartline Tucker.

Lee graduated from South Side High School in Memphis, TN in 1956, where he entered the US Navy training in San Diego, CA, class A Radio School and Submarine School in New London, CT. Lee was stationed aboard the USS Tigrone SSR 419, USS Trumpetfish and USS Amberjack SS522. He was honorably discharged in April of 1962. He went into the transportation business and he retired from Grehyhound Bus Line after 30 years. He also drove for "Moore" Bestway Travel and Groomes Transportation. Lee was a member of the VFW, American Legion and U.S. Submarine Veterans; and also a member of the Chilcutt United Methodish Church.

Lee was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Thomas Tracy Tucker.

He is survived by his wife, Sophia Jane Epperson Wright Tucker; his children Teresa Acosta and Troy Lee (Tracy) Tucker; step-children Cynthia J. (H.L.) Lowe, James P. (Brenda) Wright and Ray (Gayla) Wright; 10 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; one sister Terri (Lamar) Mashburn.

Graveside service will be held on Friday, June 14, 2024, 11 am at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Cleveland, TN, with Pastor Danny Arp officiating. Naval funeral honors will be accorded.
