Leah Ellen Hatmaker

Leah Ellen Hatmaker, 80, of Benton, TN passed away on August 5, 2021. She was born on March 17, 1941 to the late John Harley McTaggart and Monnie Bates McTaggart. Leah was a lifelong resident of this area and a longtime member of Welcome Valley Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading and loved spending time with her grandchildren and family.

In addition to her mother and father she is preceded in death by her sister Faye Lawson.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving daughter Robin Frerichs (Labron); grandchildren: Monnica Weaver (Robert), Colby Frerichs (Jenna Raineri), Isaac Frerichs, and Rory Frerichs; sisters: Barbara Long (Bob) of Alabaster, AL and Brenda Chastain (R.K.) of Greenback, TN. In addition to these, she leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends.

A celebration of Leah’s life will be held at 5pm on Monday August 9, 2021 in the Cleveland Chapel of Companion Funeral Home. Her family will receive friends from 3pm until the service at 5pm. She will be laid to rest following the service at Old Ocoee Cemetery.
