Lauren Meredith Markel

Lauren Meredith Markel, age 39, of Cleveland, Tennessee passed away on October 25, 2019 after long fight with an inoperable brain tumor for four years.
She lived the majority of her life in Rockford and Kalamazoo, Michigan moving to Cleveland, TN a year and half ago.
Lauren was a member of Living Word Church, Cleveland, TN and a Campus Minister with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. Lauren enjoyed swimming, dance, spending time with her family and friends. She will forever be remembered for her awesome smile and her passion of worship and sharing her faith of Jesus with others.

Surviving is her loving husband, Ronald J.Markel, two daughters, Liliana (7) and Charlotte (5). Her parents John and Hedy Ballema, Rockford, MI. Parents in law David and Betty Markel, Bangor,MI. Siblings:Robyn (Matthew) Johnson Alto.MI, Rachel (Stephen) Silliman, Kalamazoo,MI, Ryan(DeeDee) Markel, Edwardsburg, MI and Regina(Donny) Herber, PawPaw, MI., and eight nieces and nephew.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Sidney and Charlette Ballema and Chester and Hedy Latham.

There will be two opportunities to celebrate Lauren’s life. The first will be in Kalamazoo, MI with Langeland Funeral Home handling arrangements. The second will be on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Living Word Church, Cleveland, TN.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Education Fund for Lily and Charlotte or Hospice of Chattanooga, TN.
