Larry Wayne Brown was born to Tom and Cora Lee Brown on March 15. 1944. He left those who loved
him early in the morning on Wednesdsay, April 4, 2023.
The words that come to his friends, neighbors and anyone who met him: He was a good guy, very laid
back and compassionate. He played baseball since he could pick up a bat, playing in the Dizzy Dean and
Babe Ruth leagues. He went on to play baseball for the Bradley Bears. He moved on to softball where
he played for the American Legion and several softball teams in the Cleveland area. The friendships
he made here were life long.
He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving stateside for three years. His first job was at the
TNT Plant in Chattanooga where he worked until the plant closed. He retired from BASF in Chattanooga.
Those who went before him, include his parents, Tom and Cora Lee; special aunt, Margaret Sullivan; his
best friend, Lamar Harris; cousin, Jimmy Meeks; several friends from BASF; and many childhood friends from Old Field were he grew up.
Loved ones left to mourn him include his son, Tony Brown and Tony's fiance, Missy Finley; granddaughter,
Melanie (Eric) Self, great-grandson, Drake; sister, Gail Mikel; nieces: Jill Glover (Matt), Laney Glover
(Brance), Riley (Todd) Leach; nephew, Tim (Vickie) Hines; the mother of his son, Betty Brown; cousins: and the Dockery neighbors.
He was loved and will be terribly missed.
