Obituary
Larry Lee Everhart, 73, a lifelong resident of Cleveland passed away at his residence on Saturday, July 28, 2012. Larry was born in Cleveland on May 15, 1939 a son of the late James J and Margaret Elizabeth Harrison Everhart. Larry graduated from Bradley Central High School in 1957 and went on to attend the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and graduated from there in 1962 with a degree in Industrial Engineering. He then entered the United States Navy and served his country. Upon receiving his honorable discharge from the Navy he moved to Atlanta, GA for a short time and was employed with the Ford Motor Company as an Engineer. Larry moved back to the area and to the real estate field and has served in many capacities from Contractor, Developer, Real Estate Agent, and currently owning Everhart & Associates, a local real estate appraisal firm.
Larry was an avid snow skier, bridge player, scuba diver, world traveler, and he and his wife Wanda occasionally enjoyed a game of golf with friends. He will however be most remembered for being a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Larry leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of nineteen years, Wanda Potter Everhart, two daughters Christy Thomas and Betsy Clark (Steve), two sons Jim Everhart (Margaret) and Jack Mooneyham (Lena), one sister Joan Brock (Austin), one brother J. Max Everhart (Margot), ten grandchildren: Hunter Thomas; Mallory Brumlow; Arthel, Miller, Saylor and Gracie Clark; Knox and Luke Everhart; Bryce and Brooke Mooneyham. He is also survived by close friends Ed Wuesthoff, Hugh and Dyan Brown, and numerous other extended family members and friends.
A funeral service is scheduled for Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at 3:00 PM at the First Baptist Church located at 1275 Stuart Road NE Cleveland, TN 37312 with the Reverend Jim Gibson officiating. Entombment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with Scott Cantrell, Steve Clark, Chris Smith, Jim Sterchi, Ben Stansell, Herb Stafford, John Everhart, and Austin Brock serving as pallbearers. The Committal Service will conclude with full military honors.
The family will receive friends at First Baptist Church on Tuesday night July 31, from 5Pm until 8Pm and also one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
The family request that in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made in Larry’s memory to the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society, or the building fund of First Baptist Church.
