Larry Gale James, 76, a resident of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at home on Monday August 7, 2017. Larry retired from Maytag after 38 years of service. He was dearly loved by all that knew him and will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Exie James; first wife, Patsy Rymer James; brother, Jack James; and sisters, Alva Nell Scott, Helen Fowler, and Dorothy Kowack.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Betty Clayton James; children, Gail Hurst (Tim), Tammie Wilson (Gary), Blake Morrow (Myra), and Brenna Morrow; brother, D.C. James; grandchildren, Derrick Swafford (Melissa), Kylie Swafford, T.J. Hurst (Jennifer), Tyler Hurst (Tyler), Brandi Scott, and Kinsley Morrow; great-grandchildren, Blake Swafford, Talon Swafford, Landon Hurst, Emma Hurst, and Blair Hurst; special great-grandchild, Skylar Palmer; special friends, Jimmy & Annette Johnson and family; as well as numerous extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 12:30pm until 3:00pm at Companion Funeral Home, located at 2419 Georgetown Road NW.
A celebration of life funeral service will begin at 3:30pm in the chapel of Companion Funeral Home, with Reverend Ronald Wright officiating the service.
Larry will be laid to rest following the service in the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
