Lake Jones

March 15, 1941 — March 28, 2024

Lake C. Jones, 83, of Cleveland, TN, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend peacefully departed this life on Thursday, March 28, at Remember Me Senior Care with his loving wife, Judy, by his side. Lake is celebrating with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, a wish he has had for many years. He was born March 15, 1941, in Chattanooga, TN.

Following his graduation from Chattanooga City High School, Class of 1959, Lake married the love of his life, Judith "Judy" Condra.

Many friends knew Lake as the Pitney-Bowes man. He never met a stranger. He worked there for 38 years before retiring and worked several more years for Industrial Services.

Lake was a faithful member and deacon of East Lake Baptist Church in Chattanooga. After moving to Cleveland, he was a faithful member and deacon of Westwood Baptist Church. Lake found great joy in actively participating in church activities, reaching out to others, and offering to help in any way he could.

Lake was an avid Ford fan and loved going to car shows with his brother, Bill, but his favorite pastime was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Lake loved to tell "Dad Jokes" to anyone willing to listen.

Lake was preceded in death by his parents, Wesley Alfred Jones and Mary Lou Johnston, his sister, Linda Jones Daniel, his brother Bobby Walker, his grandson, David Robinson, and his granddaughter, Brandy Mizell.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Judy Condra Jones, and his girls, Allison Jones Mizell (Jim), and Mitzi Jones Robinson (Ken). Lake will be missed greatly by his older brother, Bill (Lucy), who was his earthly hero and his protector his whole life. Additionally, he leaves behind to cherish his memory his grandchildren, Trey Mizell (Andrea), Elizabeth Mizell Dallas (Zech), Mitchell Mizell (Kaity), Maelyn Mizell, Ashley Robinson Baker (Lee), and Holly Robinson Ponce (Josue). He is also survived by his great grandchildren, Alice, Cora, and Jane Mizell, Nash Dallas, Caleb and Liam Baker, and Jade and Julia Ponce, as well as his special bonus family, Alice Zeigler and family, and cousins, nieces, and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Westwood Baptist Church on Saturday, April 6, from 2-4 p.m. with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at the church with Pastor Steve Smartt officiating.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Westwood Baptist Church in Cleveland, TN, or to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF).
