Meyers, FL and brother. Dennis Kapteina of Bristol, IL, and many nieces and nephews who, along with everyone, will miss her greatly.
If we were to paint a portrait of Kim Hope Thompson you would instantly know she loved people and would give the shirt off her back to anyone in need. She was loved by everyone who knew her and was never known to meet a stranger. Kim could strike up a conversation with anyone and with her warmth and quick wit, she always left people with a smile on their face.
She knew how to speak to people on their level, having Seniors laughing, and if possible, even doing a “Happy Dance.” Children always felt like they were her best friend and she often surprised them with her zeal and spontaneity. Even animals would always come running at her beck and call.
Kim was a seasoned cook and loved to whip up a delightful feast and would always make sure everyone had something to take home. Because of her keen insight, she often knew things before anyone else; and she was often described as someone who could do anything.
Her life was a gift and everyone who knew her was left with something to cherish.
A graveside service is being held Saturday, January 18th at 2pm at Chilcutt Cemetery, 689 Chilcutt Road NE (off Benton Pike). There will be a Celebration of her life immediately following the graveside service.
You are invited to share a personal memory of Kim or your condolences with her family at her online memorial located at www.companionfunerals.com. Companion Funeral and Cremation Service and the Cody family are honored to assist the Thompson family with these arrangements.
