Kenneth Ray "Moon" Cathey

Kenneth Ray “Moon” Cathey, 71, of Cleveland, TN passed away on January 15, 2021. He was born on November 8, 1949 to the late Charles C. and Mary E. Cathey. Moon was a lifelong resident of this area and a automobile salesman by trade. He loved racing and was an avid Jeff Gordon fan. He enjoyed playing pool and cards. He also loved his two special kids, “Wiggles” and “Mississippi.” Above all, he was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, husband and brother.
In addition to his mother and father he is preceded in death by his wife Jennifer Cathey; siblings: Harley Ray Cathey, Charles “Charlie” William Cathey, David Thomas Cathey, Edith M. Vaughn, Betty Greene (Paul).
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his children: Patricia Smith, Jennifer Cathey, Crystal Hutto, Shane Hutto, and Nikki Hutto; sister Linda Burns; grandchildren: Britany White, Devin Kincaid, Dylan Liner, Tyler Cathey, Karlee Ratcliff, Gabriel Hutto, Brooklyn Pugh, Hykeem Hutto, and Keyli Hutto. He also leaves behind eight great grandchildren and numerous extended family and friends.
A celebration of his life will be held at 3:00pm on Tuesday January 19, 2021 at Companion Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1:00pm-3:00pm prior to the service.
