Kenneth J. Dowdy, 90, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Saturday, February 24, 2024 at the home of his son. Mr. Dowdy was born in Greeneville, TN. He was the son of the late Lucy Brady Dowdy and Floyd Norman Dowdy.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Charleen Brown Dowdy and his brothers, Paul and Jim Dowdy.
He was a veteran of the US Navy. He retired from Olin Chemical with over 35 years of service. He enjoyed dancing with his companion Charlotte, fishing, hunting and camping, sitting around the fire pit. He loved his kids, grand kids and great grand kids tremendously. He was of the Methodist faith.
He is survived by his daughter, Lynne Falkowski of Cleveland; sons Jay Dowdy (Sandy) of Cleveland and Allan Dowdy of Charleston, TN; grandsons TJ and Jordan Falkowski and Chad Dowdy all of Cleveland and Josiah Henderson of Del Rio, TN; granddaughters Kellye Archer (Chris) of Knoxville, Brittany Britton (Matt) of Jacksonville, NC, Raven Dowdy of Cleveland, and Cheyenne Dowdy of Placedo, TX. Great grandchildren Ashlan Britton, Kyler Britton and Jagger Britton of NC, Addison Archer of Knoxville, TN, Jackson Dowdy, Olyver Cronan, Ivy Hooper and Juleah Falkowski all of Cleveland; along with nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held at Companion Funeral Home on Saturday, March 2, 2024 with family receiving friends from 4-7pm, with the service following in the chapel. Pastor Mark Cameron officiating. Grave side service will be held at 11am on Sunday, March 3, 2024 at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
