Kenneth Dale DeFriese, 73 a lifelong resident of Cleveland, TN passed away on Saturday evening, August 28, 2021 in a local hospital. He was born on January 27, 1948 in Cleveland, TN. Kenneth was of the Church of God faith. He was a Tennessee licensed contractor and created many beautiful buildings in the Cleveland and Chattanooga area. Kenneth loved off roading in his jeep and bronco, camping, hunting, fishing, but most importantly spending time with his family he loved so dearly. He was a gifted craftsman and engineer making many things better for his family and the many friends he made throughout his life.
He is preceded is death by his parents C. L. & Lela C. Wolfe DeFriese and his father and mother-in-law L. J. & Dorothy Ellis.
Kenneth leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife of 53 years Juanette Ellis DeFriese, two daughters Kelly DeFriese Neuharth (Jarrod) and Tania DeFriese Engelvin Grezes (Cedric), grandchildren Ashley Tran (Loc), Ellis Trotter, Coy Trotter, Lexi Engelvin Grezes, Jordan Neuharth and Taylor Neuharth, two great granddaughters – who were the light of his light – Maddi & Maelyn Tran, one sister Beverly Cody (Hershel), one brother Conrad DeFriese (Linda) of LaGrange, GA, several nieces, nephews, numerous other extended family members and a host of special friends.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 4, 2021 from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM in the Cleveland chapel of Companion Funeral Home. A service celebrating his life will follow the visitation with the Reverend George Warren officiating.
The interment and committal service will follow the service in the McInturff Cemetery in Birchwood, TN with his grandsons and other family members serving as pallbearers. The family request that all attending the services and burial please wear a mask and practice safe social distancing measures.
