Obituary
Kathy Jo McFarland, 51 years old, went home to be with Jesus after a short illness on April 28, 2015 at a local hospital. She was a longtime resident of Athens, Tennessee. She was the fondly loved wife of Carl Sutton, daughter Kelly Adkins and husband Brian both of Athens, Tennessee, sons Kasey McFarland and fianc Nacole Cachelle of Englewood, Tennessee, Cody Perkins of Niota, Tennessee, and daughter-in-law Jessica McFarland of Etowah, Tennessee. She had five grandchildren, Brianna Adkins of Doblin, Virginia, Nicole Collins of Salem, Virginia, Grace Dale of Abington, Virginia, Korey, and Kairo McFarland of Etowah, Tennessee. She had one brother Jeff Scott and fiance Amy Bennett of Owenton, Kentucky and one sister Toni and husband Alvin Goodwin of Cleveland, Tennessee; four nieces and nephews, Michelle Scott of Owenton, Kentucky, Erin and Kevin Goodwin of Cleveland Tennessee, and Sheena Knox of Athens, Tennessee, and several aunts and uncles. She was preceded in death by her father Earl N. McFarland of Athens, Tennessee, mother Joy West of Paris, Kentucky, sister Jan McFarland of Athens, Tennessee, grandparents Earl and Edith McFarland, Otis and Bernice West of Paris, Kentucky and several aunts and uncles. The Family will be receiving friends at Candies Creek Baptist Church in Charleston, Tennessee on Thursday April 30, 2015 from 5:00 6:30 pm with a memorial service at 6:30 pm. She will be laid to rest in Paris Cemetery in Paris, Kentucky on Saturday May 2, 2015.
