Obituary

Joyce Rakestraw, 70, of McDonald, TN went to be with the Lord on February 13, 2015 at Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga, TN with her family by her side. She was a loving Mother, Granny, and friend. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and enjoyed working on the farm with her husband.

Joyce is preceded in death by: her father, William H. Trew, Sr. and one brother, William H. Trew, Jr.

Her survivors include: her husband of 53 years, Thomas “Tommy” Rakestraw of McDonald, TN, her mother, Wilda Trew of McDonald, TN t wo Daughters, Jane Branam and husband Randy of Cleveland, TN, Gina Varnell and husband Warren of Cleveland TN, two sons, Toge Rakestraw and Becky Peak of Cleveland, TN and Timmy Rakestraw and Candy Brown of McDonald, TN, one sister Deloria Carter and her husband Tom of McDonald, TN, six grandchildren Leah Stevenson, Joe Branam (Ashley), Ben Branam (Tammy), Kyley Rakestraw, Kiefer Rakestraw (Mekalah) and Kassidy Rakestraw, one great granddaughter McKenzie Stevenson, numerous other extended family members and a host of special friends.

A celebration of her life is planned for Sunday, February 15th, 2015 at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Companion Funeral Home located at 2419 Georgetown Road in Cleveland, TN with the Reverend James Massengale officiating. Interment will follow in the Pine Hill Cemetery with Kiefer Rakestraw, Joe Branam, Daniel Massengale, Tommy Suits, Seth Flowers and David Rakestraw serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon, from 1:00 PM until the 3:00 PM service time in the funeral home chapel.
