Joyce Mary Howard passed on Sunday, March 1st, 2015. Preceded in death by her father and mother, John Daniel and Farrell Lora Ratcliff Howard, the most loving and caring sister and brother, Julia Oneida and Jack Labron Howard, and precious nephew, Brian Wesley Howard. She is survived by sister and brother-in-law Jean Etta and Ralph Lindsey Bedingfield, Sr. of Lake City Florida; nephews, Ralph Lindsey Bedingfield, Jr. and wife, Lori; great niece Ellie Ann Bedingfield of Jacksonville, Florida and nephew, Richard Howard Bedingfield of Atlanta, Georgia, nephew Brent Howard and wife Kathleen of Virginia; great nieces: Amanda Parker of Polk County and Miranda Howard of Knoxville, Tennessee. Also, special friends, Pat Dodd, Carolyn Owens, Sue Ledford and Patsy Carrol. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, a member of St. Andrews Sunday School Class. A former member of Broad Street United Methodist church, she was a member of the Adult Choir, a Sunday School Teacher and a leader for the Junior High MYF. A graduate of Arnold Memorial School and Bradley Central High School, continued her education in Chattanooga and University of Tennessee at Memphis, she was Cleveland, Tennessees first certified dental assistant. She was the Dental Assistant to Dr. James E. Penny, Jr., and then to Dr. Randall Stonecipher. After twelve years in the Dental Assistant profession,, she was a legal secretary in Chattanooga, also secretary in offices in Cleveland. She retired in 2000 from Bradley County Veterans Affairs Office. Joyces many accomplishments are listed in the Thirteenth Edition of the World Whos Who of Women published Spring 1995. A private family viewing was held on Tuesday morning March 3rd, 2015 at 9:30 PM. Reverend Randy Martin closed the time with scripture and prayer. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to : St. Judes Childrens Hospital in Memphis, Tn., Mary Ellen Locker Cancer Foundation in Chattanooga, Tn., or to St. Andrews Sunday School Class at First United Methodist Church, Cleveland Tn.
