Obituary
Joyce Ann Elliott, 65, a lifelong of Decatur, TN went to be with her Heavenly Father on Thursday morning, July 25th, 2013 at her home surrounded by her family. Joyce was born in Athens, TN on February 3, 1948 a daughter of the late Hubert and Bobbie Morrow. She was of the Baptist faith and a very active member of Faith Baptist Church where she was currently serving as church clerk. Joyce was a licensed practical nurse and worked for many years at Brookwood Nursing Home locally and also Life Care Centers in Cleveland, TN. Joyce had a great love for helping others and during the last months of her life here on earth spent much time volunteering at the Senior Center of Decatur where she made many new friends. She loved painting and crocheting, but most importantly she loved spending time with her family and that was evident in the way she was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Merle Elliott and one brother Roger Lee Morrow.
Joyce leaves behind to cherish her memory two daughters Teresa O’Daniel and her husband Ronald of Decatur and Dianne Wilson and her husband Mark of Athens, one sister Robbin Elliott (Jimmy) of Riceville, three brothers Larry Morrow (Kathy) of Athens and Mike and Alan Morrow both of Decatur. She is also survived by two grandchildren Jessica O’Daniel and Stephanie Hale, two great grandchildren Ella Stokes and Tyler Hale, numerous other extended family members, church family and a host of special friends.
A celebration of her life is planned for Friday night, July 26th, 2013 at 7:00 PM at the Faith Baptist Church in Decatur located on highway 58 North with the Reverend Mike Couch officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday afternoon from 5:00 PM until the 7:00 PM service time.
The family will meet again on Saturday morning, July 27th, 2013 at 10:30 AM at Faith Baptist Church to process to Mountain View Memorial Gardens for interment where Johnathan Daniels, Nathan Daniels, Vaughn Daniels, Geno Pressley, Austin Lunsford, Bo Lamb, Ronnie Brown and David Hurn will serve as pallbearers.
