Josephine “Josie” Garcia Fanning, 46, of Lebanon, TN passed away on Saturday April 6, 2013 at her home. She was born on December 12, 1966 to Romeo and Isabel Fernandez in Palawan, Philippines. She was known for her love of music and enjoyed singing and dancing. In addition to this, she loved to cook. Josie was always happy and in great spirits and will forever be remembered by those who knew and loved her as a very kind and upbeat person. She was a part of the FIL-AM organization both in the Cleveland and Chattanooga branches. Above all, she was a loving spouse and mother who will be greatly missed by her family.
Josie is preceded in death by her father Romeo and her step-father. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband, Daniel Fanning, five children Daniel Douglass, James Douglass, Jeannie-Lea Douglass, DebraAnne Smith (Forrest), Jackie-Lynn Douglass, two step-children Robert Daniel Fanning and Brandi Ilene, granddaughter Jordin Anne Smith. In addition to these, she leaves behind several extended family members and friends in the Philippines, her birthplace.
The family will receive friends at Michigan Avenue Baptist Church located at 2741 Benton Pike SE, Cleveland, TN 37323 from 5:00-8:00pm on Friday April 12, 2013. A funeral service will be held at the church on Saturday April 13, 2013 at 11:00am at the church with Rev. Jason Cox officiating.
