Johnny Morgan Beavers

On Wednesday, August 17, 2022, Johnny Morgan Beavers, passed away peacefully at the age of 81 at Remember Me Senior Care in Cleveland, TN due to complications from Alzheimer’s.

Johnny was born on September 9, 1940 in Vincent, AL to Leslie and Grace (Sims) Beavers. He graduated 1958 with honors from Vincent High School where he played baseball, basketball and football, as well as a member of the Beta Club and Student Council. Due to a catastrophic injury to his father, he went straight into the workforce after graduation to support his parents and two sisters.

Johnny started his working career with Central Georgia Railroad, later Beaunit Mills, Westinghouse Mills and finished as a capital project manager with Kimberly Clark Manufacturing until his retirement in 2000. In 1960 Johnny married Mary Frances Sumners and moved to Harpersville, AL. They raised two sons, Troy and John. In August 1992 he married Linda Huckabee in Childersburg, AL. They raised Linda's two daughters Shelly and Lara.

Johnny was a devoted husband, loving father, supportive brother and faithful friend. He was very active in his community, serving as a deacon and lifelong member of Vincent Baptist Church. He was known for his building/engineering abilities and tireless work ethic in addition to his infectious smile and compassionate spirit. He enjoyed being with family and friends, especially on the golf course, and he was loved by everyone who met him. His weekly Thursday dining group brought him much joy. Self-named "The Dream Team", however their favorite waitress re-dubbed them The ROMEO's (Retired Old Men Eating Out). These dear friends were with Johnny and Linda to the very end.

Johnny was preceded in death by his father, Leslie, his mother, Grace and his sister Mae Ann. He is survived by Linda Beavers (Cleveland, TN) his loving wife of 30 years, Troy Beavers (Duffy Baehr), Spartanburg, SC, John Beavers (Natalie Haine) , Luxembourg, Shelly Bullurd (Donnie) , Birmingham, AL, Lara Fretwell (Brian) , Cleveland, TN, eight grandchildren, sister, Virgina Beavers Donaldson (Birmingham, AL) and her children, Randy Thomas (Connie) , Pell City, AL, Ginger Carlon (Rob) Greenville, SC.

The family will receive friends at Kilgroe Funeral Home in Pell City, AL, Sunday, August 21, 2022 from 2:00 - 4:00 pm with a celebration of life funeral service to follow. Interment will be at Macedonia North Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or a charity of one's choice.
