Johnny Lee Frye

Johnny Lee Frye, 60, a resident of Athens, TN passed away on Wednesday, December 7th, 2016 at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, TN. Johnny was a native and lifelong resident of McMinn County. He served in the U.S. Army 101st Airborne and later transferred to serve on the Military Honor Guard at Arlington Cemetery. Johnny had served on the City of Athens Police Department, the McMinn County Sheriff's Department and with TVA as a security guard. Johnny later attended Lee College and did his student teaching at City Park Elementary School. He most recently was associated with Athens Products.

Johnny leaves behind to cherish his memory two sons Nathan Lee Frye of Athens, Daniel Kyle Frye and his wife Annette of El Paso, TX, three grandchildren Giovanni, Matthew and Audrey, his parents John C. & Rose Breeden Frye of Riceville, TN, on sister and her husband Donna & Kim Wade also of Riceville, his former wife Marilyn Malone of Memphis, TN, nephew and niece Christian Wade of Riceville and SkyLinn Lynn of Vonore, one great niece Madlin Lynn of Niota and numerous other extended family members and a host a special friends.

A graveside service is planned for Monday, December 19th, 2016 at 1:30 PM in the Chattanooga National Cemetery and will conclude with full military honors.
