Johnny Franklin McClanahan, 75, of Cleveland, passed away Friday, January 10, 2020 in a local hospital. He was a native of Bradley County, retired from Bowater Corporation with 34 years of service. His family was his greatest joy and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He lived a full life riding his motorcycle, traveling and always ready for the next adventure. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, Joe C. McClanahan Sr. and Frances Barger McClanahan and brother Joe C. McClanahan Jr. He is survived by his wife Kaye White McClanahan; son, Travis McClanahan of Barnesville Georgia; daughters, Holly Rivers of Boone, North Carolina and Kelly McClanahan, Cleveland; granddaughters Cora Rivers and Madeline Roark of Missoula, Montana, Taylor and Emma McClanahan of Barnesville Georgia; brother Tony (Nancy); sisters Helen Martin and Patsy (Terry) Beaty of Cleveland; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday January 18 at Companion Funeral & Cremation Service on Georgetown Road. This will be a time to celebrate Johnny’s life by coming together to share our love, friendship and memories of him.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations should be made to your favorite charity.
