Obituary

Johnnie Merritt Crisp Ratcliff, 90, a lifelong resident passed away on Sunday, June 29th, 2014. She was born on May 9th, 1924 to the late Robert E. Crisp and Beulah A. Crisp. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Big Spring Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband James W. “Dub” Ratcliff, daughter Janice Geren, two sister Emma Lee King and Evelyn Fisk, and one brother Robert E. “Bobby” Crisp Jr.

She is survived by her daughter Deanna Thacker and her husband Eddie, grandchildren Angela Mahoney and husband Dennis, Meleah Geren, Michelle Anderson, great grandchildren Taylor Mahoney, Olivia Anderson, Phallyn Anderson, Dakota Geren, Mathew Ramsey, Trevor Ramsey and Colton Ramsey, two brothers Mitchell Crisp and Michael Crisp, several nieces and nephews, numerous other extended family members and a host of friends.

A celebration of her life is planned for Friday, July 4th, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Big Spring Baptist Church located at 1415 Hardwick Street in Cleveland, TN with the Reverend Daniel Malone officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens with Eddie Thacker, Larry Kennedy, Dennis Mahoney, Dakota Geren, Lee Belcher, Mathew Ramsey, Trevor Ramsey and Gene Ramsey serving as pallbearers. Colton Ramsey, Olivia Anderson, Phallyn Anderson and Taylor Mahoney will serve as honorary pallbearers. The service will conclude with a white dove release.

The family will receive friends on Thursday night, July 3rd, 2014 in the chapel of Companion Funeral Home located at 2419 Georgetown Road from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and also at the church two hours prior to the 1:00 PM service time on Friday.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made to the Big Springs Baptist Church in Johnnie’s memory.
