John Seymore

Johnny Raymond Seymore, 84, of Athens, Tennessee, passed away on May 31, 2024, in Knoxville, Tennessee. He was born on June 24, 1939. Johnny was a dedicated employee who retired from the McMinn County Highway Department. Outside of work, he found joy in his hobby as a fisherman.

He is survived by his loving wife, Rachel Seymore; daughters, Lisa Shankle and Veronica Small, as well as his grandsons whom he raised, Jon Lemons and Billy Pierce. Other grandchildren, Dixie Clayton, Sandy Clayton, Kelli Clayton, Emma Small and Brian Drinnen along with several great grandchildren.

Johnny was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Jane Seymore; daughter, Melissa Idol, and grandsons, Dillon Clayton and Jake Lemons.

A Ceremony to honor Johnny's life will be held at Union McMinn Baptist Church on June 25th at 7:00 pm
