John Patrick "Mickey" Spears born February 5, 1952 departed this life for his heavenly home November 9, 2020 at the age of 68.
Mickey a life-long resident of Lake City served in the US Army and was well-known for being an avid outdoorsman. He acquired numerous certifications including rappelling, mountain/ mine rescue and scuba diving. And was active in the hunter education program, ATV safety instruction along with serving as a Cub/Boy Scout leader. Mickey never met a stranger and enjoyed sharing his knowledge of the outdoors. In later years his talents were reflected in his love for sketching and creating dreamcatchers. He was of the Baptist faith and will be remembered by those who loved him for his adventurous spirit.
Mickey is proceeded in death by his loving mother, Ella Spears, father, Claude Spears, sister, Wilma Ann Spears, sister and brother-in-law, Loretta and Ed Simpson. He is survived by his children; daughter, Stacy Phillips (Greg) of Rocky Top, sons, Patrick Spears of Clinton & Trae Spears (Amanda) of Caryville. Grandchildren; Mackenzie Phillips, Bayleigh Spears, Zach Phillips, Kateland Spears and Avarie Spears. Along with a host of friends & extended family.
