John Martin Sheppard

John Martin Sheppard, 66, a resident of Sweetwater, TN passed away on Tuesday morning, July 18th, 2017 at Fort Sanders Medical Center. He was born on August 7th, 1950 in Van Nuys, CA a son of the later Richard & Hannah Sheppard. He was a truck driver for many years. John loved traveling, riding his Harley and spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death one brother James Sheppard.
John leaves behind to cherish his memory three children Shannon Miles and her husband Daniel of Sweetwater, TN, Deborah Kennedy of Niota, TN and John Mike Sheppard of Sweetwater, ten grandchildren, four great grandchildren with two addition great grandchildren expected shortly, one brother Chuck Sheppard (Brandi) of CA, one sister Susan Guillen of New Mexico, numerous other extended family members and a host of special friends.
A celebration of his life is planned for Friday, July 21st, 2017 at 5:30 PM in the chapel of Companion Funeral Home located at 400 S. White Street in Athens, TN. The family will receive friends on Friday afternoon from 4:30 PM until the 5:30 service time.
