John Hawkins

John David "JD" Hawkins , 38 died at his home in Cleveland, TN on Wednesday, October 9, 2024. Close family members were with him. JD was born in Cleveland, TN to John Dennis and Willa Ann (Copus) Hawkins.

John was preceded in death by his father, John Hawkins and paternal grandparents John Samuel Hawkins, and Johnnie Ruth Crump. Also by his maternal grandparents Harold T. and Wilmetta June (Bruce) Copus of Findlay.

JD is survived by his mother Willa Ann (Copus) Hawkins of Cleveland, TN, brother Joshua D Hawkins, Knoxville TN and niece and nephew Josephine(Josie) and Jett Hawkins who held a special place in JD's heart. Also surviving are sister Brooke (Charles) Wines of NC and niece and nephew Kelsey and Heath Wines. Brother Sang Hak Han of Seoul, South Korea.

JD is also survived by Aunt Diana Shroy (Columbus, OH) and children, Uncles H. Douglas(Kathy) Copus and boys; David (Carolyn) Copus and boys, Aunt Janna (Chad) Richards and children, all of Findlay. Uncle William Hawkins and family(SC).

JD was a graduate of Cleveland High School in Cleveland, TN. He was most recently employed by LifeCare Centers of America corporate offices in Cleveland for over 15 years working in Corporate Services and Security Systems.

JD enjoyed many outdoor activities, but was most happy spending time with family, and helping others in any way he could.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2024, from 12:00 -1:30 PM at Colleen-Crates Funeral Home, Findlay, followed by a family only service led by Brent Shroy, to begin at 1:30 PM in the Chapel. Burial will follow in Bechtel Cemetery with Pastor Terry McBeath officiating.

A Memorial service will be held at later date in Cleveland, Tennessee.

In lieu of flowers, JD requested memorials be made in his memory to those in need.
