John Godfrey

John Godfrey of Cleveland, TN left his Earthly body on December 3, 2021, to join our Lord and Savior in Heaven. John was born on December 9,1944 and was an avid Nascar and College Football fan. He loved spending time in the great outdoors and fishing in the beautiful rivers and lakes of East Tennessee. John was an active member of West Cleveland Baptist church and a proud Veteran of the U.S. Army. It was an honor for him to serve and protect the country he so dearly loved.

John is survived by his wife of 34 years Judy Godfrey. Son Michael (Nicki) Graham and three grandchildren, his “Scooter” Makenna and “Red Headed Firecrackers”, Owen and Mason who were the apples of his eye and brought such joy to his life. Sisters Janice (Eddie) Ross, Judy (RL) Queen, Jimmie Ruth (Glenn) Biddy and one brother Jerry Frady, along with several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents Bart and Laura Godrey, Jewel Frady and Newbern Blaylock. Two brothers, five sisters, a special Brother-in-Law Gary Dunn and Special Niece Misty Dunn.

Visitation and receiving of family and friends will be held Sunday December 12. 2021 from 1-3PM at Companion Funeral Home 2415 Georgetown Road NW Cleveland, TN. He will be laid to rest at a later date in Fort Hill Cemetery in the Veterans section with full Military Honors.
