Ray Davis

John Raymond Davis, 88, a resident of Bradley County went to be with his Lord and savior on Sunday, August 4, 2024. Ray was born in Bradley County on March 15, 1936 to the late Ira and Katherine Davis. Ray was a member of the Brittsville Baptist Church where he once served as assistant choir Director. Ray was a man who loved the Lord and never met a stranger. A veteran who served in Korea he worked at Bowater for 28 years and retired in 1998.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth and Davis whom he cherished; his granddaughter Savannah Martin; brothers, Jimmy Davis, and Richard Davis; and his sisters, Emma Lou Tinsley, and Wanda Rominger.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his children, Mike (Wendi) Davis, Sandi (Darrell) Martin, Debbie (Rex) Vines, Ellen (Robert) Deakins, and Jammy (Amy) Miller; his sisters, Nancy ogle, and Freda (Gerald) Benton, his grandchildren, Josh Davis, Cody Vines, Abigail (Tanner) Kincaid, Robert (Becky) Martin, Matthew Martin, Candice (Chris) Pruit, Dakota and Zachary Bridwell, and Kathy (Jacob) Dockery; along with several great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family ask that memorial donations be made to St. Jude's Childrens Hospital in Ray's Name

A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, August 9, 2024 at 4:00 pm at companion Funeral Home of Cleveland with Pastor Tyler Norton officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 2:00 pm -4:00 pm prior to the service.
