Joe Roberts

Joe Roberts, 70, of Athens, passed away on October 3, 2024. He was born on December 28, 1953 in Cherokee, North Carolina to the late Frank and Rose (Moore) Roberts. Joe enjoyed the mountains and going to Cherokee which was his heritage. Before his retirement, he was an avid truck driver which he loved. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Angela Evans; mother in-law, Myrtle Henley, whom he adored; parents, Frank and Rose Evans; siblings, Mike Roberts, Joyce Ricker, Barbara Ark, Linda Higdon, Marie Standridge and Aileen Jones. Joe is survived by his wife of 51 years, Brenda Roberts; special son and caregiver, Steven Roberts; sister and brother in-laws, Sandy and Rick Coleman and Sherry Davis and George Ratledge; two very special little girls, Jasmin Williams and Brooklyn Covey, who were the love of his life; special mammaw, Della Hines; very special niece and nephew, Kim and Michael Robinson and several other nieces and nephews that he loved. Services will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at 4:00 pm at Companion Funeral & Cremation Services, 400 S. White St., Athens, TN 37303 with Pastor Roy Chisim officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 pm on Thursday.
