Joe Paul

August 8, 1936 — January 30, 2024

Joe Bill Paul passed away peacefully on January 30th, 2024. Born on August 8th, 1936 to Glen and Willie Paul, he lived most of his life in Cleveland, TN then locating later to Riceville, TN. He was the youngest of 5 children and spent his childhood helping his father work a dairy farm in Cleveland. He later joined the United States Navy where he served 4 years. He was stationed in Tokyo, Japan as a tele-typist and communications specialist. On April 28,1962, Bill married the love of his life, Nancy Townsend Paul. They were married 57 years until Nancy passed away on July 3rd 2019.

Together they had four sons. Tim (Heather), Todd (Kelli), Tyson (Lori), and Ashley Terrance -who passed away as an infant. He had 1 granddaughter, Kaitlin Ashley Paul. He also had 1 step-granddaughter, Ashley Williams along with her children Lane and Evangeline (Evie).

Bill spent his life as a tool and die maker for several local companies in Cleveland including Magic Chef, Brown Stove, and Schering-Plough. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons. He spent several years as a Dixie-Youth baseball coach and was a Cleveland High School Band booster while all 3 of his children were in the Blue Raider Band. He loved his family and working his farm. But the most important part of his life was his faith. Bill came to know the Lord later in life, but he loved the Lord and constantly studied and grew as a believer. He was a member of North Cleveland Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and helped direct the Senior Adult ministry there for several years. Although he will be missed, he is now whole, healed and experiencing the presence of the Lord, and with that knowledge, there is great joy.
