Obituary
Joe Dale Campbell, 67, of Cleveland, TN, passed away surrounded by family and friends at his home on Saturday July 6, 2013. He was born on December 11, 1945 to the late Glen Otis and Shirley Annis Ruth Campbell. Joe was in the industrial insulation business for more than forty years in the Chattanooga and Dalton Areas, avid racing fan, assisting his son, Jody, build a number of cars and win many races at the Cleveland Speedway. Above all of these, he loved nothing more than spending time with his grandchildren, helping them by coaching ballgames, occupying many hours at the ball field.
In addition to his mother and father, he is preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Janice Campbell, one sister Annis Horne.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his children, two sons: Jody Campbell (Suzy), W.G. “Buck” Campbell (Lisa), one daughter: Bridgette Campbell, six grandchildren: Hannah Campbell, Charlie Joe Brown, Seth Campbell, Abby Campbell, Levi Pennington, and Deanna Dill, one sister, Glenna Kirkland (Lonzo), two brothers: George Campbell (Debbie), Mike Campbell. In addition to these, Joe leaves behind dozens of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00pm on Tuesday July 9, 2013 at Faith Memorial Church located at 910 17th St., Cleveland, TN 37311. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday July 10, 2013 at 12:00pm at the church with Pastor David Riggs officiating. The family will also receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Michigan Ave Cemetery. Seth Campbell, Charlie Joe Brown, Levi Pennington, Shane Campbell, Donnie McCann III, Jeff McCann, Tony Edwards, and Ricky McCann, will be serving as pallbearers. Cody Campbell will serve as honorary pallbearer.
In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the Faith Memorial Church, where he contributed regularly.
