Joann Smalley

Joann Smalley, 86, of Cleveland, Tennessee Went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, August 29, 2024. Joann was born on May 26, 1938 in Cleveland, Tennessee to the late John T. and Tennie C. Horner. She was a dedicated member of Ridgeview Baptist Church. Joann had a servant's heart. She volunteered many hours of her time at several organizations giving to people that were in need.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband of 43 years, Jimmy Cecil Smalley; her daughters Cathy Darlene Smalley and Patricia Plaskett; her second husband of 14 years, David F. Mayes; sisters, Bobbie Elliott, and Betty Griffith; and her brothers, Paul Horner, and John Horner.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, Kim and Randy Cole, and Jamie and Chris Smalley; along with a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, brothers, sisters, extended family, and friends.

A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, September 1, 2024 at 4:00 pm at Ridgeview Baptist Church with Reverend Kenneth Purdy officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm prior to the service. A graveside service is to follow at Cedar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with Shaun Sneed, Jimmy Cole, Aaron Teague, Keith Webb, Randy Cole, Tyler Burns, and Pete Costanza serving as pallbearers.
