Jimmy Thompson

Jimmy Thompson, 71, of Old Fort, TN passed away on June 27, 2016. He was born on June 20, 1945 to Glenn and Margaret Ruby Thompson. Jimmy was a lifelong resident of this area and a member of Parkway Baptist Church. He enjoyed flying remote controlled planes, rebuilding cars, drag racing, and bluegrass and old country music. Above all things, Jimmy will be remembered for being a kind man who never met a stranger. He could carry on a conversation with anyone he came in contact with. He will be missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his mother Margaret Ruby Thompson.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 42 years, Margaret Ruth Thompson; daughters Amanda Thompson (Justin McCrory) and Deborah Davis; son Robert Russell (Joyce); brothers Steve Thompson (Elizabeth) and Andy Thompson (Brenda); grandchildren Aaron Russell (Melanie), Shawn Davis, and Nathan Russell; special great grandson “Cam” and numerous other great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday July 2, 2016 at Parkway Baptist Church located at 185 Meadow Lane, Cleveland, TN 37323. The family will receive friends at the church from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at the church on Friday night July 1, 2016.
